What are groups?

The groups are departments, business functions, units, or specialized teams in your organization. In TrustOps, controls, systems, evidence, and policies are categorized into groups to make it easy to delegate tasks to people in groups and to measure compliance risk and effectiveness across the groups.

Groups in TrustOps

By default, there are 8 groups in TrustCloud; these are the typical key contributing groups towards the overall compliance posture of your organization:

Groups:

  1. Leadership
  2. Legal
  3. HR
  4. Sales and Marketing
  5. Security and Compliance
  6. Engineering
  7. DevOps
  8. IT

Each group includes controls, evidence, systems, and tasks to give you an idea of who owns what and who is responsible for carrying out certain tasks.

What is a group card?

Consider groups as a specific business function, business unit, or specialized team. The groups are created so that you can delegate all the tasks in the group easily. Each group name can be edited by clicking on the pencil icon next to the group name.

How do I create a new group?

To create a new group,

You can invite a leader from a specific department who is not part of the 8 groups in TrustOps and create a new group.

  1. Go to “Groups” page in your TrustOps program.
  2. Click on the “Add Group” button on top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Enter name of the group you want to create and click on the “Create Group” button.

    TO Groups Assign Owner 04
  2. Search and select the owner name, then click on the “Assign To” button.

Each group card shows controls, evidence, systems, and tasks associated with that particular group. You can click on each item to view details.

Why are group owners important?

For each group, you can add a group owner. The group owner is responsible for the tasks to be carried out, and everything is working smoothly. After adding a group owner, all of the tasks associated with that group will be shown on the “My Tasks” page. You can learn more about the tasks here.
